Fairfield is a progressive community that works together to help one another achieve their recreation goals. Our 15.9-mile loop trail carves a graceful pattern around the city. It winds its way from hill, to prairie, to wet lands, to cool secluded forests and all within easy reach of Fairfield’s residents. Fairfield is a bike-friendly city with a professionally designed bike and pedestrian transportation system that connects all major areas of the city as well as connecting back to our loop trail system.
Fairfield has three lakes within its borders that lend themselves to swimming, windsurfing, stand up paddling (SUP), canoeing and kayaking. When weather changes and folks want to be indoors, Fairfield hosts a large assortment of private health facilities as well as public accessible recreation centers that allow for a full range of choices that include all the usual team sports but also swimming, racquetball, wallyball, yoga, spinning, archery, rock-climbing, gymnastics, parkour and tennis.
